Journeyman Horseshoeing
Advanced Training for the Professional Farrier
The Journeyman Horseshoeing Course at Troy Price Horseshoeing School is designed for students who want to deepen their skills and pursue a long-term career in the farrier profession. This extended training program builds upon foundational horseshoeing techniques while providing additional time to refine forging skills, improve efficiency, and develop a higher level of craftsmanship.
Students gain extensive hands-on experience working directly with horses while continuing to strengthen their ability to evaluate hoof balance, identify soundness issues, and apply proper shoeing techniques. Through daily practice and personalized instruction, students develop the precision and problem-solving ability required of professional farriers.
The goal of the Journeyman course is to prepare students for the real demands of the industry while helping them continue advancing toward higher levels of professional certification and skill.
Preparing for a Career in Farriery
The Journeyman course also helps students prepare for the professional side of the trade. In addition to improving technical ability, students learn the importance of professionalism, communication with horse owners and veterinarians, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Graduates of the program leave with a strong skill foundation and the practical experience necessary to continue developing as working farriers.
